Suasi Island is the only private island on the Peruvian Titicaca Lake. Located 4 hours sailing by boat from the city of Puno, it offers a unique destination for the enjoyment of nature. Our Isla Suasi Hotel is the ideal place to rest and relax with incredible views of the lake. We offer an exclusive service by sailing from the port of Puno to the Suasi Island, crossing through all the Titicaca Lake and visiting the famous islands of Uros and Taquile.

Country House

Isla Suasi Hotel is a large country house with lounges, terraces, gardens and 23 bedrooms, all with incredible views of the lake. In addition, we have a private cabin on the shores of the lake, with all the amenities. We provide an integral service of lodging, food, and activities aimed at relaxation and enjoyment. Hammocks in our gardens, massage service, island walks, kayak rides, among others.

Dreams and daydreams

The spacious and bright rooms ensure our guests cozy comfort. Windows or balconies with a privileged view of the lake, gable roofs with wooden beams, spacious bathroom and wood stoves that ensure a full nights rest. The magical touch goes, in some, by roof skylights through which you are able to see the stars or the moon at night; during the day, receive solar rays and in others, at the first level, have flowers and trees at hand.

Tables and palates

Whether in the garden, on the beach or in the heat of the fireplace, native potatoes, colorful quinoa, soft meats, local cheeses and bread and organic trout are the essence of a family kitchen, healthy and appropriate at the height of its quality. Thus, our menu is unique and universal at the same time. Sweets and desserts, ice creams and drinks, wines, piscos, coffees and hot infusions complete the journey.

Cultural cabin

In the library and the interpretation centre, you are able to discover more about the lake and the Collao plateau: its geological formation, uniqueness and fragility of the ecosystem, the greatness of its cultures, its society and its folks.

We have 23 bedrooms, all with lake views. Located on two levels, we offer double, matrimonial and triple rooms, as well as a private cabin on the shores of the lake. All rooms have security boxes and are decorated with Peruvian art.

Activities in Suasi Island

Being in Suasi is being a witness and participant in the care of gardens, moving between beaches and hills, going up and down at your own pace, accompanied by alpacas, elusive vizcachas, days of sun and rain , nights of moon and stars, unrepeatable sunsets, serene days or nights of gales that roar from the immense flatland. All experiences have unforgettable moments: doing nothing, sunbathing, resting, meditating, reading, writing, painting, weaving, closing your eyes, opening them fully, dreaming, remembering, forgetting ... is up to you to decide. Break the routine and the accelerated rhythm, stop, let yourself be carried away by your senses and discover the surrounding environment.

How to arrive in Suasi?

Sailing the major lake

Lake Titicaca has to be felt, crossing its waters either from Puno or from Suasi. Daily departures::

From Puno 07:00 Arrival at Isla Suasi 12:30 approximately.
From Suasi 12:45 Arrival at Puno 15:30 approximately.

On the route from Puno to Suasi there are 2 brief stations: Uros Island, to visit the descendants of an ethnic group whose roots and history are unique; and Taquile Island, Alasuno sector, where they offer a presentation of their traditional activities.

If the sailing conditions are risky, it is only accessed by land, with the deadline for entry being 16:00. It is possible to hire private services, which allow flexible hours and stations tailored to the requirements of agencies and travelers.

Traveling by flatlands and shores

By traveling by land, the view is nourished by landscapes, faces, towns, crops, flocks and lakeside banks. A good asphalted road guarantees a comfortable trip of 3 hours from Puno and 2 from Juliaca. If you arrive in Juliaca by air from Lima, Arequipa or Cusco until 13:00 hours, you can embark towards Cambría, place of entry to the island. If the arrival exceeds 14:00 hours, spend the night in Puno.
